Air Quality

Air cleaners / purifiers are devices that remove pollutants from air inside your home. The main airborne contaminants are particulate matter (PM) like viruses, bacteria, mold, and dust mites, and gaseous pollutants from paint or polishes.

Indoor pollutants can cause moderate to severe health issues including asthma, allergies, and even cancer. Air cleaners and purifiers promote a healthier, more comfortable home environment. Did you know indoor air is up to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air? If you’d like to prevent yourself and your family from breathing toxic air, an air cleaner / purifier may be the right solution for you.

REME-Halo Whole Home In-Duct Air Purifier

Pollutants don’t need to travel through the air handler for UV treatment or filtration, the REME-Halo is proactive and sends ionized aggressive oxidizers into the room to destroy the pollutants at the source before you can breathe them in.

  • Neutralizes 99.9% of the SARS-CoV-2 virus
  • Kills up to 99% of bacteria, mold, and viruses
  • Kills 99% of sneeze germs within 3 feet
  • New zinc ions kill 99% of viruses on surfaces

How often should you change your air filter?

In general, you should change it every 30 days. However different factors can influence that. For example, if you have allergies, pets, younger children, etc. you may consider changing it more frequently. Your air filters MERV rating also factors into how frequently it should be changed. Here’s a quick guide:

  • MERV 6 – 9 : Change every 90 days
  • MERV 10 – 12 : Change every 60 days

What is a MERV Rating?

MERV stands for “Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values” and helps quantify the filter’s efficiency. MERV ratings are used to compare different filters. The higher the rating, the better the filter is at trapping large particles between .3 and 10 microns.

Adding an Air Purifier to your HVAC system

Your heating and cooling systems have air filters built into them, which help remove dust and other contaminants from the air in your home. These filters are simply meant to help keep your HVAC functioning, but they aren’t powerful enough to keep your air clean. Air purifying systems work to clean the air you breathe so that it’s safe and free from things like pollen, pet dander, mildew, mold, and more.

Our central air cleaners treat your entire home by permanently capturing harmful contaminants like bacteria, mold spores, and allergens.
